Loading...The Tourist Office of Deventer (VVV) offers several guided walking tours through the city of Deventer.
Professional guides will tell you fascinating stories about the city and her history.
Guided tours:
The medieval trading centre of the city with its medieval street pattern, beautiful merchants’ houses and the impressive 16th century weighing house on city square De Brink.
Duration: 1 hour.
The oldest part of the city. The oldest brick private house of Holland is to be found here, along with the oldest scientific athenaeum library of Western Europe, the city hall and the Great Church.
Duration: 1 ½ hour.
A combination of the most impressive and beautiful parts of the Bergkwartier and the Noordenbergkwartier.
Duration: 1 ½ hour.
During weekdays it is possible to make a conducted tour through the town hall. When available you can get an inside view of the council chamber and maybe have a quick look at the mayor’s office.
This church has an original 11th century crypt and fine murals and vault paintings from the 15th and 16th century. It is also possible to climb the tower of this church. The tower has 220 steps and gives a unique view over Deventer and the river IJssel.
